Offshore Survey Technical Conference
In previous years Ocean Business has hosted a two-day technical conference providing technical presentations on the major issues and practices facing the international offshore survey community.
Presenters from the international oil & gas majors, the global contractors & service providers and government and academic members of the hydrographic survey community come together to provide the community with valuable insight into the technology, operations and business issues in the global field of offshore surveying.

Offshore Survey 2015:
Following an overwhelming call for papers the Offshore Survey conference included a superb line-up of presentations, carefully selected by the technical committee with support from the Hydrographic Society. Conference Chairman, Ed Danson, International Sales Manager of C-Nav Group, enthused, “This year’s record attendance at Ocean Business once again emphasised its position as the ocean community’s premier trade show. The quality of papers presented at Offshore Survey was exceptional, and delegate attendance and participation was excellent.”
Offshore Survey 2013
The 2013 edition of Offshore Survey saw a change in the format which invited the whole industry to submit abstracts over the whole breadth of the Offshore Survey sector. With new Conference Chairman Ed Danson and the support of The Hydrographic Society UK who were directly involved in the technical committee who ensured there was an exceptional line-up of presentations by leading experts in the field. Ed Danson, comments, “There is no doubt that the overall feeling for this year’s conference was one of optimism – with an innovative industry that is looking very much to the future, embracing new technologies and broadening horizons.”
Offshore Survey 2011
The Offshore Survey Conference took place over two days and the extensive programme offered technical papers from 20 distinguished international speakers, who addressed a wide range of technical and business issues in the offshore survey industry. Conference Chairman Alastair MacDonald of TMS International welcomed delegates and the proceedings commenced with a hushed audience in the packed auditorium listening intently to Energy Industry expert John Westwood who delivered a very positive Key Note Address on prospects for the global ocean industry business.
Offshore Survey 2009
Offshore Survey 2009 was once again held at the National Oceanographic Centre, Southampton, UK, and once again the weather was perfect for the on- and offshore aspects of the event! The delegates came from far afield: Europe, Middle East, North and South America and South East Asia. Delegates heard a wide range of papers from a panel of 20 distinguished Speakers who addressed technical and business issues in the offshore survey industry.
Offshore Survey 2007
Almost 100 delegates from 16 countries covering Europe, Middle East, North America and SE Asia registered to attend the first Offshore Survey Conference held at the UK National Oceanography Centre in Southampton. Delegates heard a wide range of papers from a panel of 21 distinguished Speakers who addressed topics of current concern in the offshore survey industry as well as announcing new technologies and recent innovative offshore projects.
