Vessels Alongside and Outside Demos

A number of exhibitors are bringing their own vessels to Ocean Business to demonstrate their equipment onboard or the actual vessel itself. They are moored on temporary pontoons that join onto the permanent NOC pontoon.

Teledyne Marine

The Falcon Spirit is a Wave Commander 14m Aluminium Catamaran research vessel owned by Plymouth University. During Ocean Business the Falcon Spirit will serve as on-water demonstration vessel for the Teledyne Marine group.

Teledyne Marine will be showcasing the high quality rack mounted dual head Multibeam Echosounder SeaBat T50 IDH with build in INS from RESON together with the Teledyne PDS acquisition software. CARIS On Board will stream data back to the Teledyne Marine booth. You can also experience the Oceanscience RapidCAST SV profiler during the demonstrations.

C-Worker 5
ASV Global

C-Worker 5 is an autonomous boat, designed, built and operated by ASV Global. C-Worker 5 is the ideal platform to support hydrographic survey work.

Designed as a force multiplier to enable increased coverage and minimise weather risk through reduced survey duration. C-Worker 5 is reliable through simplicity, utilising an off the shelf direct drive marine diesel propulsion system operated by ASV’s proven ASView control system. This system integrates quickly and easily with a wide variety of acquisition systems, enabling line plans to be uploaded to the system for accurate data collection.

C-Worker 5 is designed for up to 7 days endurance at survey speeds of up to 7 knots, minimising launch and recovery options and increased survey efficiency.

The C-Worker 5 is featuring as one of the vessels alongside throughout the show with ASV Global running continuous demonstrations from the pontoon area. In addition to this, ASV Global will showcase live data collected from the Kongsberg systems aboard the C-Worker 5 at its stand (U4).

The 5.5m autonomous vessel will be hosting a variety of Kongsberg Maritime systems during the demonstration, including EM2040P, Seapath 130, MicroPAP and Maritime Broadband Radio.

Kongsberg Maritime

In collaboration with ASV Global, Kongsberg Maritime will be demonstrating a variety of systems on board the C-Worker 5 ASV, including EM2040P, Seapath 130, MicroPAP and Maritime Broadband Radio. Kongsberg Maritime will run demonstrations on its Ocean Business stand, focusing on the live data collected from the KONGSBERG systems aboard the C-Worker 5.

R2SONIC, Renishaw and SBG Systems 

R2SONIC, Renishaw and SBG Systems have teamed up to offer boat demonstrations on board the Ports of Jersey (Channel Islands) owned and operated MCA Cat 2 coded multi-role vessel ‘Rival,’ which has recently been mobilised with a comprehensive survey package delivered by Swathe Services.  On show will be an R2Sonic 2024 multibeam with UHR 700khz, Renishaw Merlin Vessel-Based Mobile LIDAR and SBG Apogee-U Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), which have all been installed on a bespoke over-the-side mounting system designed by C4R Maritime Solutions. Valeport MiniSVS and SWiFT sensors complete the hardware setup, and Hypack – A Xylem Brand is being used for data acquisition and processing.

Operated and crewed by a highly experienced and professional team, Echo Explorer is a fully equipped Cat 2 vessel able to conduct operations out to 60nm day or night. She is a spacious, well-appointed vessel with a large working deck equipped with a Palfinger crane to assist deploying equipment from AUVs to subsea acoustic positioning and sonar imaging equipment. This can be deployed through the port and starboard moon pools or the large central moon pool & bow mounting position. Echo Explorer also offers single wireless connection whilst alongside, at sea Viprinet connection offering 3 x 4G connections utilizing overlapping networks, this provides an excellent stable connection and extended range. Echo Explorer is fitted out with a full suite of Sonardyne’s 6G navigation and positioning equipment together with and the latest Garmin satellite navigation system. Based in Plymouth she is used primarily for Sonardyne product development, training and demonstration, though she is also available for charter by third party organizations using Sonardyne equipment or independently for surveying and hydrographic use. Demonstrations will be conducted daily on Echo Explorer at Ocean Business 2017.

NORBIT will showcase the all-new multi-sensing concept that combines multiple tightly integrated sensors into one hardware platform with a single LAN connection to survey computer.  Supported sensors include any combination of bathymetric multibeam echosounder, high grade GNSS/INS sensor, forward looking sonar and LiDAR. The ability to couple a forward looking bottom detection sonar opens doors for obstacle avoidance while safely carrying out a coastal survey along rugged coastlines or combining bathymetric multibeam with LiDAR.

RV Callista, Tuesday 4 April PM Only

Geomatrix Earth Science Ltd

On the afternoon of Tuesday 4 April, Geomatrix Earth Science Ltd have chartered the RV Callista.

The afternoon will be split into two sessions. In the first session we will be demonstrating a new digital telemetry system for marine magnetometer arrays and integrated Side Scan Sonar. Whilst the second session will focus on the CHIRPceiver and Pipeliner transducer array.

New Life II
EdgeTech

EdgeTech will be conducting on-water demonstrations of the EdgeTech 6205 Multi Phase Echo Sounder (MPES) continuously throughout Ocean Business 2017. The system provides 200 degree IHO quality bathymetric coverage and co-registered simultaneous dual-frequency side scan sonar data.  EdgeTech’s 6205 next generation technology increases efficiency and safety for traditional shallow water multibeam users.  Demonstration will be conducted on board the New Life II.  This dedicated survey vessel is 14 meters long and can accommodate up to 12 guests per demonstration outing.

On Wednesday 5 April, they will host an on-water Echoscope® demonstration, to introduce the new Echoscope® XD and the latest version of their unique operating software Underwater Survey Explorer (USE) Version 7. The demonstration will include an on-water survey of the surrounding seabed area in real-time. This is a unique chance to experience their real-time 3D Echoscope® XD.
