Trainer Facilities - Dockside Information

  • The mean water depth in the middle i.e ~90m from each end is 7m.
  • The mean water depth at the pontoon is just under 5m.
  • The tidal range is 2.6m.
  • At the top of the high tide ~3m freeboard i.e. from the quay wall down to the water; at low water this would be 5.6m.
  • A small structure will be provided to house equipment and offer visitors a warm and dry arena to watch the demonstration in question.
  • The maximum number of people that can fit inside the dockside viewing area is 30, however demonstrations can still be seen from outside the demo area, but viewers must stay behind the fenced area.
  • The only people that are permitted to proceed past the fenced area are those responsible for launching and recovering equipment with their lifejackets on. (Lifejackets will be stored inside the viewing area).
  • Launching and recovering kit from the dociside waters can be done via the pontoon as well. NB vessels will be going out and coming back at regular intervals, please be sensible andi f you need to wait to recover or launch your equipment, please do so.
  • Electricity is provided inside the viewing area, but there are limitations.
  • A table and limited seating is provided inside the viewing area.
  • There will be a small open and non secure structure in which empty boxes can be placed.
  • If a demonstration or training session is cancelled due to inclement weather, the aim will be to re-schedule the training session and if for any reason it has not been possible, the training demonstration will remain cancelled and no refund will be provided. Trainers are advised to take out additional insurance to cover this eventuality.
